Technology

Technology at TCA

At TCA, our goal is to incorporate the most possible state-of-the-art technology into our students’ educations to provide an excellent academic experience as well as to prepare them for college and life after graduation. Because of this, at TCA all students receive their own personal Chromebook as a part of their tuition.

Tech Accountability

As students are growing into young men and women of God, we as a school want to partner with you to instill in them a desire for accountability with technology. As a way to accomplish this, we recommend that every parent sign up for our technology accountability program. You will receive a Weekly Student Online Activity Report to see your student's Chromebook online activity. The summary report will be sent to you on Sundays and show everything they have seen and how much time they have spent on each page. After receiving your first report, you can register for Light Speed Parent Portal access. Click here for more information about the weekly report and instructions on how to register for the Light Speed Parent Portal.

Teachers are also able to view each student’s screens at any given time in their classrooms. Our hope is to provide safeguards so students are free to use technology in a way that contributes to their robust education and prepares them for the independence of college years.

Audio Enhancement

Through TCA’s Heritage Fund, we have been able to provide audio enhacement to all of our Lower School teachers and classrooms. With this innovative use of technology, every teacher’s voice is able to be heard at the same level in any location within their classroom. Students are also able to utilize a microphone when presenting in their class. Studies show that this use of technology not only helps students engage who have hearing difficulties, but also helps all students have an increase in their test scores and academic retention as a result.
