TCA Families,

We want to provide you with important information in the midst of unfolding national and state communication regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This morning, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee urged schools statewide to close to further reduce the spread of the Coronavirus. The state will provide further guidance for schools prior to the end of March.

With the health of our students, employees, and community in mind, please note and honor the following TCA guidelines until further notice:

*Trinity Christian Academy will be closed from Monday, March 23rd through Tuesday, March 31st.

*Unless otherwise notified by EE Director Tammy Oliphant, our Little Lions with Holiday Care will remain open through this Friday, March 20th.

*Effective immediately and until further notice, all extracurricular activities, including athletic competitions and practices, are suspended.

*We are evaluating future calendared events and will communicate any needed changes to you as soon as possible.

*TCA faculty and staff will have in-service training on March 23rd and 24th and will receive separate communication.

*While students are encouraged to independently continue the learning process on Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24, formal distance/online learning will officially begin for TCA students on Wednesday, March 25th. Because of our continued learning plan for students, there is no need to add additional calendar days for instruction at this time.

*Students and families will receive communication by Tuesday, March 24th, regarding the continuation of learning plans for your child. Every effort is being made to continue the learning process for your children in a meaningful and effective way.

*We will also provide a scheduled time for parents to pick up needed items for students next week. No students or parents should be on campus during this time without a previously approved appointment with an administrator.

*We ask that you communicate with faculty and administration by email, and by phone as required.

*We ask that you direct your school concerns and questions to the appropriate school leader by email as opposed to social media platforms as we all work to respectfully navigate through this unprecedented time with accurate and unified communication.

*The entire TCA community is urged to limit travel and to exercise social distancing as nationally recommended. Informative Link: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/03/16/816490025/quarantine-self-isolation-social-distancing-what-they-mean-and-when-to-do-them

*If your student shows any COVID-19 symptoms (fever, coughing, shortness of breath) between now and the reopening of school, he or she must provide official Coronavirus negative testing results before returning to school. Informative Link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html

*Please notify the school by email (cheryle.emison@mytcalions.com) if you or your children are diagnosed with Covid-19 (Coronavirus).

*Go to the COVID-19 link on our website homepage and social media for the most up-to-date information.

We are mindful and sensitive to the challenges this decision places on you and our entire community. We as a school are committed to serve you with excellence as we all work through this challenging time together. We will closely monitor national and state resources and continue to communicate with you as needed. We are hopeful that no further closure extensions will be necessary and that you and your family remain healthy!

Be encouraged that God is with you and HE is in control. I pray your family is strengthened by His peace and provision.

Judy Brown, Head of School

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.
Genesis 50:20-21
