Spiritual Emphasis Recap 2026
It was a great day at TCA as our students from Kindergarten through 12th grade took time away from their regular routines to focus on faith, worship, discipleship, and community during our annual Spiritual Emphasis Day.
Spiritual Emphasis Day is a special opportunity each year to intentionally point our students toward Christ and give them time to hear God’s Word, worship together, and reflect on what it means to live out their faith.
Upper School
Our Upper School students were blessed to welcome the Bethel University Renaissance Choir, who led several sessions of heartfelt worship throughout the day. This talented group of young worship leaders brought energy and passion to each session, and we were grateful to have them share their gifts with our students.
Students also heard three messages from guest speaker Jay Barbier, Student Pastor at Belle Aire Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Jay previously served as the statewide Youth Specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and was heavily involved in the annual Youth Evangelism Conference. He has also taught at Union University’s Apologetics Conference and has a genuine heart for sharing the Gospel with young people.
Jay challenged our students through messages from the Book of Psalms and encouraged them to consider what it looks like to respond to God in faith. The day concluded with an opportunity for students to respond personally to the message they had heard.
We pray that the conversations and seeds planted during Spiritual Emphasis Day will continue well beyond the school day.
Lower School
Our Lower School students celebrated Spiritual Emphasis Day in the chapel with a fun and meaningful morning focused on the Gospel: God’s Plan for Us.
We were excited to welcome TCA alumna Kathleen George, Kids Director at Englewood Baptist Church, and her team, who shared the Gospel with our students in an engaging and memorable way.
The Bible Bros kicked off the morning with a treasure hunt, challenging students to work together to crack a code and discover five important messages that ultimately led them to the truth of the Gospel.
Students were also led in worship by TCA alumna Molly Smith and spent time reflecting on and responding to the message they heard. Following chapel, students met with their Trinity Tribe groups to talk about what they had learned and created a wordless Gospel book to help them remember the Gospel message and share it with others.
Planting Seeds of Faith
From chapel in the Lower School to worship in the Upper School, Spiritual Emphasis Day gave every TCA student an opportunity to hear the Gospel, worship together, and consider what it means to follow Christ.
We are incredibly thankful for the pastors, worship leaders, alumni, teachers, coaches, and volunteers who invested in our students today. Most importantly, we pray that the Lord will continue to work in the hearts of our students and that the seeds planted today will grow into a lifelong faith in Jesus Christ.
